The work an estate actually requires
Most of settling an estate is documents, deadlines, and follow-up. That is exactly the part we take off your hands, statewide across Nevada.
Probate and court paperwork
- Reviewing the will, trust, or lack of either, and explaining what the court will likely require
- Preparing petitions for probate, letters of administration, and supporting declarations
- Filing documents with the correct Nevada district court and tracking hearing dates
- Preparing the inventory, appraisal, and record of value for estate property
- Preparing interim and final accountings for the court
- Attending hearings with you, or on your behalf where a non-attorney may appear
Finding what the estate holds
- Searching for bank accounts, retirement accounts, and life insurance policies
- Identifying vehicles, real property, mineral or water rights, and safe deposit boxes
- Locating heirs and beneficiaries and documenting the family tree the court will ask for
- Requesting and organizing death certificates and vital records
- Gathering statements, deeds, titles, and tax records into one clean file
Property, belongings, and day-to-day logistics
- Securing a residence and arranging utilities, insurance, and basic upkeep
- Coordinating appraisers, estate sales, cleanouts, and donation of personal property
- Inventorying and photographing contents so the record holds up later
- Coordinating with realtors on sale of estate real property
- Arranging safe storage or transfer of items that go to specific heirs
Notices, claims, and closing things out
- Notifying Social Security, the VA, pension plans, and other benefit providers
- Publishing and mailing creditor notices and tracking the claim period
- Reviewing claims against the estate and organizing them for approval or objection
- Closing credit cards, subscriptions, and utility accounts
- Coordinating with a CPA on final personal and estate tax returns
- Preparing distribution records and receipts from heirs
Support for professionals and out-of-state families
- Acting as boots on the ground in Nevada for heirs who live out of state
- Preparing case files and document packages for the attorney you have already hired
- Assisting trustees, executors, and successor trustees who are doing the job themselves
- Helping caregivers and family members plan ahead before a death occurs

We are not attorneys. We do not give legal advice, choose legal strategy, draft wills or trusts, or represent anyone in a contested matter. If heirs are fighting, if a will is being challenged, or if a question turns on how the law applies to your facts, that belongs with a licensed Nevada attorney.
