Ginger Simpson

For a decade, Ginger Simpson did the work most people never see. As a deputy and then as the elected Public Administrator for Nye County, she stepped into homes after someone died, secured property, tracked down family members who did not know they were heirs, sorted through decades of paperwork, and carried estates through the court until they closed.

Some of those estates were large. Many were not. What they had in common was a family standing in the middle of it with no idea what to do first, and often no money for an attorney to tell them.

Compassionate Solutions Inc. exists for those families. When Ginger leaves office in December, she is taking the same process she has used for ten years and offering it privately: the document work, the court filings, the asset searches, the phone calls to Social Security and insurance companies, the inventory of a house nobody wants to walk into yet.

She is not an attorney and does not pretend to be. What she is, is someone who has done this several hundred times and knows the order things need to happen in. When a matter needs a lawyer, she says so, and she works with attorneys across the state to make sure their time is spent on the legal question and not on hunting down a bank statement.
